TNA Wrestling‘s reported ban on intentional blood might not be entirely accurate.
Last week, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that “excessive blood and blading” would no longer take place in TNA. This announcement came 24 hours after the company taped a bloody Dog Collar match between Steve Maclin and Eric Young. But was this report correct?
Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated recently spoke with TNA President Carlos Silva, who informed Alba that there is no such ban in place.
While Silva did confirm that TNA wants to be cognizant of advertisers and partners as they search for a new media rights deal for iMPACT, it was stressed in the talent meeting to utilize brutality and intentional bleeding more sparingly going forward.
So while there is no ban on intentional blood in TNA, there will be a lot less of it in order to make sure these aspects aren’t being overused.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on TNA’s new policies as it becomes available.
