Solid match. Octagón Jr. looked great and had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand with his spectacular high-flying moves. Dominik is the perfect foil for any Luchador, insisting that he is the best of them all. The funny thing is, Dominik is something more than a Luchador. He bridges the gap between American and Lucha-style wrestling in a way that is actually impressive, considering the uninterested blob of goo Dominik was when he first debuted.

This was by far Lynch and Valkyria’s best match to date. You could feel the hatred as these two tore into each other. They couldn’t even wait for the bell. Valkyria channeled RVD tonight, utilizing barricade leg drops like they were in the ECW Arena. The near falls in this one were expertly crafted, particularly the setup for the top rope Manhandle Slam. These two even made a double count-out spot exciting. This writer is impressed by what Valkyria and Lynch accomplished here tonight. Hell of a match.

Every time there is a gimmick match PLE where both the men and women have the same type of match, the women have a habit of outdoing the men. That was not the case in this year’s MITB. The Women’s MITB match was great, but the men’s MITB match this year was nothing short of excellent. Everyone in this match moved a mile a minute the entire time. Under normal circumstances, that wouldn’t be a good thing. In a match like this, it works if you can pull it off. No one was out of the action for long unless they literally got murdered, leading to their absence.
This match was structured so that, regardless of the speed, they still successfully built to each significant spot in the match. Fatu’s betrayal here made perfect sense. It would be most impactful if Sikoa finally gave Sikoa that same energy, which would cost him a huge match. The downside is that having that happen here meant Rollins wasn’t going to have to worry about one of his many ops stopping him from winning this match. It would be TOO much interference, even for a MITB match. This writer wants to get this prediction out of the way now: It doesn’t matter WHEN Rollins cashes in; he’s going to lose. Also, Penta’s Mexican Destroyer on the ladder was disgusting. Just… wow.

This writer was ready to crap all over this match. Listen, how do you have a tag match after you have had two MITB ladder matches? You are setting everyone up for failure, structuring a big show like this. The crowd was way more into this than this writer was. This match, like every main event featuring Cena on this retirment tour, felt like a Raw main event and not the final match on a big PLE. One of the MITB matches should have closed the show… but all that changed when they swerved us once again with R-Truth making a surprise appearance. Maybe Truth ended up signing a new deal. Maybe this was one of his final appearances on his new deal; either way, no one saw this coming. That alone bumps this C+ match to a B- affair.
WWE Money in the Bank Review:
This year’s Money in the Bank was one of the most chaotic and drama-filled PLEs in a long time. The women’s and men’s MITB matches were both brilliant, with the men’s finally managing to inch out the women’s for the match of the night. The weakest match may have been the main event, but the surprise return of our favorite national treasure, R-Truth, saved that. Rollins sits firmly in the seat of power with the men’s MITB, while Naomi looms over Tiffany Stratton, whom she hates, with her newly acquired and one billion percent deserved Women’s MITB case. All in all, the show delivered despite a slightly underwhelming main event. What did you all think of the show? Let us know in the comments below!
