Saudi GEA Chairman Turki Al-Sheikh Teases WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is getting the Royal Rumble in 2026. Could WrestleMania 43 be next in line?

WWE’s current relationship with Saudi Arabia started with hosting special WWE Premium Live Events in the country in 2018. This marked the start of an annual partnership, announced to run through 2027, that would see WWE bring two “large-scale events” to the country each year. This saw WWE introduce The Greatest Royal Rumble, Crown Jewel, and its King and Queen of the Ring tournaments as part of the Night of Champions event.

In January, WWE announced it would bring the 2026 Royal Rumble event to Saudi Arabia, marking the first time a “big five” WWE event would take place in the country. Women were not permitted to wrestle on the first three Saudi events. But now, WWE’s women have been featured on the Saudi events since Crown Jewel 2019. Despite the positive movement from WWE’s business perspective, the partnership has faced heavy criticism over Saudi Arabia’s poor human rights issues, including its treatment of women and LGBTQ+ people.

Now, it appears that Saudi General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Al-Sheikh is teasing an even bigger event in 2027 — WrestleMania 43.

Is WrestleMania coming to Saudi Arabia?

On Thursday, Al-Sheikh wrote on Twitter that he had signed a major entertainment event for 2027. He said he would make the announcement soon, but didn’t offer any more details in his original post.

“A huge entertainment event I signed a while ago in 2027, a big surprise I’ll announce soon… (Your happiness is our goal) ???❤️,” Al-Sheikh wrote on Twitter/X.

A fan replied and asked if he was referring to WrestleMania. Al-Sheikh simply replied with two emojis, an upside-down face and a face with sunglasses, clearly teasing that the fan could be onto something.

WWE has not officially announced plans for WrestleMania 43 yet. WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on April 18-19, 2026. New Orleans, the original host of WrestleMania 42, is still in the running for a future WrestleMania event. The city will also host Money In The Bank in 2026. This is part of a broader “multi-event, multi-year agreement” that saw WrestleMania 42 move to Las Vegas.

Indianapolis is also in line for a future event. The city will host one as part of its eight-year, multi-event agreement that includes the 2025 Royal Rumble. London Mayor Sadiq Khan has also continued to campaign for a WrestleMania event in the United Kingdom, leaving WWE with many options to host its biggest event of the year.
