In recent times, Hollywood has been trying to remake several of the old classic films. Disney has been making live-action remakes of movies such as Aladdin. The Lion King, and many more. Marvel has made remakes of the Spider-Man films, and also a brand new version of the Fantastic Four. Now, a 1980’s classic is being remade. It is none other than the film, Highlander. The lead roles in the remake is being played by Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe. It seems like the lead villain in the film is going to be played by former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista.
The Hollywood Reporter had recently reported that there are negotiations going on between the WWE veteran Dave Bautista and the producers of the Highlander remake. He will be playing the role of the Immortal Barbarian, The Kurgen.
The main plot of the film is that a Scottish Highlander discovers that he is an immortal warrior. He then battles other immortal warriors. The movie will be an action-fantasy film which will also involve time traveling.
CM Punk names Dave Bautista as one of his acting mentors
During a recent interview with Comingsoon.net, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk revealed that Bautista was one of his acting mentors. The Second City Saint has acted in his fair share of movies. But one of his popular works is his role in the Stephen Amell starrer, Heels.
“Just because he has been a friend for so long, Dave Bautista. I can reach out to Dave and ask him a million different questions. There are so many people I met along the way that have helped me out greatly. A lot of people on Heels like Mike O’Malley and so many. You meet so many producers, directors. Stephen Amell has been a huge help because, to me, this is his world. Any time I have questions there are definitely people who have a wealth of experience I can reach out to and get an informed opinion from,” CM Punk said.
Do you think Dave Bautista was the perfect choice for playing the role of The Kurgen?
