Stephanie Vaquer Highlights The Challenges Of Cutting Promos In English

Stephanie Vaquer is eager to learn.

Hailing from San Fernando, Chile, Stephanie Vaquer has long used Spanish as her first language. Since signing with WWE in 2024, she’s also gradually adopted the English language, though not without some challenges.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Vaquer explained the difficulties of cutting promos in English on WWE television.

“It’s hard because, for me, I think in Spanish [and then I translate it],” she said. “I don’t want people to say ‘Why does she speak so slow?’ Because I try to translate everything and sometimes it’s not the same. Spanish maybe makes sense, but in English it’s like ‘What?’ So it’s hard, it’s difficult. But I hope one day. I just need more time and learn more.”

“It’s really nice because everybody always helps me a lot,” she continued. “Everybody always help me a lot with that. But yeah, sometime I feel like, oh, I know I can do that in Spanish really well. Now in English it’s like I can’t, but it’s good. I love challenges. I love the new things and learning new things. So for me sometimes it’s like oh I want to say this in Spanish, but it’s really nice. Learning new things for me is exciting.”

According to Vaquer, her English speaking skills are not perfect just yet. To eventually reach that point, though, she plans to continuing practicing a little every day and taking her formal classes on a weekly basis. Later this week, she will face IYO SKY for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
