The TNA Roster Is Pissed Off About Getting Disrespected By WWE NXT Again

Could an invasion be on the horizon?

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT Homecoming special brought a sense of nostalgia for many fans as it featured talents from both NXT’s past and present. For talents on the TNA Wrestling roster, however, it seems to have triggered a feeling of disrespect. Nearly the entire TNA roster, in addition to commentator Tom Hannifan and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, made that clear with their angry and frustrated posts across Twitter/X.

“NXT celebrates its past but disrespects TNA’s future,” wrote former X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali. “Many will talk about it. A few will do something about it. Consider this a warning @ShawnMichaels.”

“Damn. It’s #NXTHomeComing tonight and they couldn’t even invite some @ThisIsTNA people?!” former Knockouts Tag Team Champion Killer Kelly asked on X. “Not even a former NXT UK talent, MYC 2 participant AND made the list of WWE Matches of the Year 2018?”

“To keep it real with everyone… I’m pretty sick and tired of all the ‘WWE/NXT has control over TNA and can do what they want,’ bulls***,” Mike Santana, number one contender to the TNA World Championship, wrote. “Think it’s about time we put it to rest and do something about…”

Winners Takes All? Not On TNA Talents’ Watch

Aside from the illusion that NXT is “controlling” and disregarding TNA, several talents also cited issue with the new Winner Takes All Match made for Oba Femi and Trick Williams. Both Femi and Williams are contracted to WWE, but at NXT Battleground, Williams dethroned Joe Hendry for the TNA World Championship. Now, he is slated to face Femi, the NXT Champion, on next week’s edition of NXT, with both of their titles on the line.

“Trick vs Oba is set up for the TNA Title at #NXTHomecoming?!? Even tho Trick is a @WWENXT talent who currently holds the @ThisIsTNA Championship, he shouldn’t be defending against a NXT talent,” TNA Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy wrote in response to the development. “This is utter BS – It’s a TNA title & should always be defended against TNA talent!”

Also frustrated by the news, current TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater teased the idea of activating Option C, which would grant him a TNA World Championship match in exchange for him relinquishing the X-Division Championship.

Given the flood of posts from active TNA talents, many fans and pundits are now under the impression that an invasion from TNA may be imminent. This conclusion is further backed by other stars, such as Steph De Lander, suggesting that TNA, WWE’s partner promotion, hold its own “homecoming.” Former TNA World Champion Moose also noted that he and the TNA entire roster would be “closely” watching Femi vs. Williams next week.

As of this writing, it is unclear as to whether a TNA invasion will actually unfold on WWE television. Nevertheless, it’s evident that the TNA roster is “pissed” at WWE/NXT.
