NXT Gold Rush Week Two Spoilers From New York City

The first week of NXT Gold Rush kicked off with a live episode of NXT at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden. WWE taped matches for week two before and after the live broadcast, which will air next week on NXT on The CW.

Spoilers for the taping, courtesy of ProWrestling.net, are below:

Jackson Drake (w/Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes) defeated Sean Legacy to retain the WWE Evolve Championship.

  • Drake won with a running kick in about nine minutes. This match was taped ahead of the live broadcast

Kendal Grey (w/Wren Sinclair) defeated Lainey Reid to retain the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship.

  • Grey won in about eight minutes with an exploder suplex. Charlie Dempsey, Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley all got involved, but the referee ejected them all.

Myles Borne defeated Trick Williams in an Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying match

    • Borne won clean in roughly nine minutes with a Lifting Reverse STO.

Lei Ying Lee defeated Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace in a Triple Threat to win the TNA Knockouts Championship

      • TNA President Carlos Silva and Tommy Dreamer were both shown at ringside. The finish saw Grace powerbomb Jordan, but Lee threw Grace out of the way and stole the pin. The match went about 12 minutes and was said to be very good.

Fallon Henley defeated Zaria to win the vacant WWE Women’s Speed Championship

        • The match went to a five-minute draw, so NXT GM Ava called for a sudden-death overtime period. Zaria went for a spear, but Fatal Influence pulled Henley out of the way, which caused Zaria to hit the ring steps. Henley ultimately got the win about four minutes into the overtime period, and the match went about nine minutes overall.

Trick Williams came back out to the ring and said he wouldn’t lose three times in one night. He called out Myles Borne, who chased him out of the ring. DarkState attempted to attack Borne, but he was saved by Joe Hendry, Je’Von Evans, and Leon Slater, who cleared the ring to end the night.

In addition to the matches taped for week two, next week’s show will also see John Cena announce the competitors in the Iron Survivor Challenge matches ahead of NXT Deadline on December 6.
