The long-awaited reunion of the Lucha Bros finally happened this past weekend.
At AAA Alianzas in Mexico this past Saturday, Dominik Mysterio teamed up with El Grande Americano to face Hijo del Vikingo and Dragon Lee in the main event.
Vikingo turned heel in the closing moments of the match after he refused to tag in, leaving Dragon Lee at the mercy of Mysterio and Americano, who picked up the win for their team shortly after.
As Dominik Mysterio was in the middle of a post-match promo, a video package of the Lucha Bros played on the screen. Penta and Rey Fenix challenged Dominik and Americano to a tag team match at the Guerra de Titanes event on December 20.
In a backstage video, Dominik Mysterio accepted the challenge and told the Lucha Bros that they would cross paths at the upcoming AAA Lucha Libre event on December 20. This will mark Penta and Fenix’s first run as a tag team under the WWE umbrella.
It is worth mentioning that Penta had been teasing a reunion with his brother Rey Fenix leading up to last Saturday’s AAA event. The brothers last teamed together in AEW. While Penta has been mostly involved in singles action on RAW, Fenix had a brief run with Andrade as a tag team partner before returning to singles competition on SmackDown.
