WWE NXT Results:
Backstage, Je’Von Evans is in the parking lot, pacing back and forth. NXT GM Ava tells Evans to come inside. Evans refuses. Evans wants Ricky Saints.
Women’s North American Championship Match: Blake Monroe (c) vs. Thea Hail
Hail immediately looks for the Kimura. Monroe gets to the rope. Hail keeps attacking Monroe’s arm. Monroe takes control after a backbreaker. After the break, Hail lands a teardrop splash. The referee counts to three, but it looks like Monroe may have gotten her shoulder up, but the referee definitely counted to three…
Winner and NEW Women’s North American Champion, Thea Hail!
Monroe is confused as the referee explains to her that she didn’t kick out.
Grade: C+
The match was fine, but that seemed like a botched finish. If that’s the case, it was good on the referee for counting to three. Too often, a worker not getting their shoulder up leads to the referee burying themselves and holding up the count. This wasn’t on the ref.
EGO
North American Champion Ethan Page calls out Tony D’Angelo. TNA International Champion Stacks and Arianne Grace interrupt. Stacks wants more gold. He wants the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships. TNA’s Moose is out next. Moose says the boys back in TNA are pissed another NXT star has a TNA Championship. Page smiles and starts to walk away. Moose tells Stacks it’s his lucky day, because he’s laser-focused on Ethan Page. Moose wants NXT gold, and Page will defend against Moose at the NXT Awards Show. Page takes a swing at Moose. Mose sends Page out of the ring.
Grade: C+
Nothing special here. Oh look, it’s Moose… sarcastic yay…
Hank and Tank vs. OTM
Nima and Price are in control early. Hank and Tank take control after an assisted shoulder block. Backstage, someone pulls up in a “luxury vehicle.” After the break, Nima and Price attempt to put Tank through the commentary desk. Tank escapes and lands a senton off the top. Nima breaks up Hank and Tank’s finish. Hank and Tank get the win after a quick roll up.
Winners- Hank and Tank
Grade: B
Solid tag match. OTM hits hard, Hank and Tank have… something that the NXT crowd loves. For whatever that’s worth.
The Absolute Era
Ricky Saints was the man in the “luxury vehicle.” Saints walks to the ring with security. Saints rants about Evans jumping the line. That’s why Saints had to smack Evans back to reality. No one has. What it takes to keep Saints from his goal. Evans appears and attacks Saints. Saints tosses Evans into the ring steps. Saints put Evans through the commentary desk with a Rochambeau.
Grade: B
Solid rant by Saints. It’s smart to have Saints stand tall over Evans again here. It will build anticipation for their eventual clash.
Fatal Influence vs. Evolve Women’s Champion Kendall Grey and Wren Sinclair
After a ton of big spots and stiff strikes, Grey makes Henley tap out after Jacy Jayne is knocked off the apron.
Winners- Kendall Grey and Wren Sinclair
Grade: B
Fun match. Wren and Grey continue to impress with their ground-based game. If you missed this one, totally worth a watch.
Number One Contender’s Match: Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne vs. Leon Slater vs. Joe Hendry
Slater eventually manages to pin Myles Borne for the win.
Winner- Leon Slater
