WCW Legend’s Daughter Makes Pro Wrestling Debut in Japan

A WCW legend’s daughter has officially made her pro wrestling debut in Japan.

Marie Malenko, the daughter of former WCW Cruiserweight Champion and current AEW Senior Producer Dean Malenko, has made her in-ring debut for Pro Wrestling NOAH. She competed in a three-way tag team match with her partner, Sofia Sivan, at the NOAH Monday Magic Rising Sun event on February 2.

The WCW legend’s daughter and her partner lost to Alivia Rose and Great Sakuya in the three-way tag team bout, which also featured Dream Girl Ellie and ZONES. Despite the loss, Marie Malenko’s partner, Sofia Sivan, put her over during the post-match interview, saying she gave it her all against some tough opponents.

Former ROH wrestler Erick Stevens also noted that he trained with the WCW legend’s daughter. He said she’s definitely a Malenko and that she would become one of the best technical wrestlers in the country after gaining more experience.

A wrestling fan account has shared a clip of her match on X/Twitter, saying that Marie Malenko will continue wrestling in Japan. The WCW legend’s daughter also has singles matches lined up against the likes of Seri Yamaoka and Rea Seto in Marigold.

Dean Malenko has been part of All Elite Wrestling as a Senior Producer since May 2019. The former WCW Cruiserweight Champion also made a few on-screen appearances for the promotion, including the October 8, 2021, episode of Rampage, where Tony Khan thanked him alongside Jerry Lynn, Taz, and Chris Jericho for inspiring him.
