AJ Lee’s much-awaited return to WWE TV itself got fans excited, and her face-to-face moment with Becky Lynch on RAW added even more fuel to their growing rivalry. But what was more fun was a moment where Lee almost broke character.
The February 9 episode of RAW opened with backstage footage of CM Punk and AJ Lee together. As they started walking together, Lynch appeared behind them a few moments later. Knowing that Lee had returned visibly annoyed her.
Later, The Man marched to the ring and cut a fiery promo, venting out her frustration, talking about feeling disrespected, and accusing others of trying to steal her spotlight.
What Becky Lynch Said That Nearly Made AJ Lee Laugh On RAW
It didn’t take long for AJ Lee to respond. She came out to confront Lynch, and the two traded personal digs. Lynch went straight at Lee, asking why she was at RAW, accusing her of stealing attention. Lee calmly replied that she wasn’t there for The Man at all and said she was just supporting Maxxine Dupri, who had a match later that night against Nattie.
As Lee kept up her playfully sarcastic attitude, Lynch snapped and cut her off. “Okay, okay, I get your whole thing that you do. You act like you’re so cute with your ‘youness’ and your stupid eyebrows…” Lynch said.
That line got a visible reaction from Lee. The camera caught her touching her eyebrows and almost cracking a smile and breaking character. Lynch, however, kept going, comparing Lee to a chihuahua that won’t stop barking and keeping her awake at night.
“You know what you are? You are like a little chihuahua, and you just keep barking and barking in my ear and yapping all night long, keeping me awake, and you’re ruining my life,” The Man said.

Later, when the discussion turned to a possible match, the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion initially refused to give Lee a title match. However, AJ Lee also didn’t want to earn it the usual way. After going back and forth, Becky finally gave in and made it official. AJ Lee will face Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber in Lee’s first singles match in over 10 years.
