Cody Rhodes has recently given a huge shoutout to a rising WWE star and compared him to AJ Styles.
Rhodes is set to compete inside the Elimination Chamber this weekend. He will face Randy Orton, LA Knight, Jey Uso, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans in what promises to be a high-stakes showdown.
With Williams and Evans being new faces on the main roster, both have already made a quick impression with their performances. Now, Rhodes has offered high praise for 21-year-old rising star Je’Von Evans, comparing his impact to that of AJ Styles during his prime years.
Cody Rhodes Calls Je’Von Evans a Game-Changer Ahead of Elimination Chamber
Speaking in an interview with ESPN’s Get Up, Cody Rhodes described Evans as a true game-changer heading into the Elimination Chamber match.
He said, “Je’Von Evans is our youngest guy, I think, competing in the Elimination Chamber. And if you haven’t seen what Je’Von Evans can do, yet, it’s truly amazing. He’s changing the game the same way AJ Styles changed the game years ago, but also when you taste the steel in these type of matches, it’s a different vibe. There’s a different level of grit to it. And I want to see if he can match everyone in there.” [H/T: pwmania]
Evans has impressed since joining the main roster. He has already shared the ring with top stars like Finn Balor, Gunther, Dominik Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, and El Grande Americano. Each outing has helped build his reputation as one of WWE’s fastest-rising talents.
