Jacy Jayne Retains WWE NXT Women’s Title After Zaria’s Accidental Assist

The March 17 episode of WWE NXT from Houston, Texas, opened with a high-stakes Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship. While all three competitors had their moments, the outcome hinged on a twist no one saw coming.

Jacy Jayne entered the bout defending her title against Sol Ruca and Zaria, with momentum shifting constantly between the three.

Chaos At Ringside Leads To Jacy Jayne’s Title Retention

The match featured fast-paced exchanges and near-falls, with all three competitors trading offense throughout. Ruca delivered explosive aerial offense. Zaria relied on power, including a decisive F-5 that appeared to shift the balance late in the contest.

However, the closing sequence told a different story.

After Zaria hit Ruca with an F-5 on the outside, she attempted to maintain control of the situation. But her attention was diverted when members of Fatal Influence — Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley — got involved at ringside.

Zaria fought them off, even taking Henley out with an F-5, but the distraction proved costly.

Back inside the ring, Jayne seized the opportunity. With Ruca down and Zaria momentarily out of position, the champion crawled into a cover and secured the three-count before Zaria could break it up.

The finish effectively turned Zaria’s dominance into an unintended assist, allowing Jayne to retain her title without directly delivering the final blow. It’s the kind of twist that proves matches aren’t always won by the strongest — sometimes, they’re won by the smartest.

With the victory, Jayne continues her second reign as NXT Women’s Champion, a run that began in November and has now surpassed 119 days.

As NXT moves forward, Jayne remains firmly on top. If this match showed anything, it’s that even when the odds are stacked, she knows how to capitalize when it matters most.
