A former WWE Superstar says he can squash Oba Femi faster than he did Goldberg.
Former NXT Champion Oba Femi made headlines after this week’s episode of WWE RAW, after he stood toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar and took him out with a huge Fall From Grace. He accepted the Beast Incarnate’s open challenge for a match at WrestleMania 42 next month, and the promotion has made it official.
Following the event, former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman took to his X/Twitter account to post a picture of him performing a chokeslam on Brock Lesnar during their match at No Mercy 2017. He added the caption “There’s isn’t and will never be another like me!!!”
When a fan posted a GIF of Oba Femi in the comments, Braun Strowman replied, “I’d squash him faster than Goldberg lol.”
Strowman had defeated the WCW legend in a short 2:13-minute match at WrestleMania 36 to win the Universal Championship. However, he only got the opportunity after Roman Reigns, Goldberg’s original challenger, withdrew from the event due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Braun Strowman has been busy with other endeavors since leaving WWE
After his first release in 2021, Braun Strowman returned to WWE the following year. However, his time with the company ended in May 2025. Despite not being signed to the promotion as a wrestler, Strowman has been hosting WWE Studios’ food travel show Everything on the Menu, which premiered on the USA Network in October 2025. He recently announced that the show is set for a second season.
Strowman revealed back in October 2025 that he is taking a break from pro wrestling. He also recently got hospitalized due to a bad knee infection. It will be interesting to see whether the former WWE star’s comments are a prelude to his return to the ring.
