John Cena isn’t buying what you’re selling.
Internet personality Harry Daniels, known for singing to celebrities in public, recently shared a video of an awkward interaction with WWE star John Cena.
During the video, which has more than 2.3 million views on TikTok so far, Daniels can be seen approaching Cena, who is sitting in a cafe. Daniels begins singing to Cena, who doesn’t look amused at all.
“How about we start with a hello,” Cena says to him. “How ya doing? I’m John, nice to meet you. Would you like to sing now, and for what purpose?”
Daniels tries to explain why he approached Cena, sharing that he sings to everyone.
“OK, I’m not buying what you’re selling. I’ll pass,” Cena says.
Daniels walks away defeated, adding the following caption to his post.
“Ok this ones on me cuz i had no decorum my bad sorry john cena”
John Cena wants fans to ask permission to record him in public
This isn’t the first time John Cena has taken issue with how people approach him in public. Cena famously shut down internet personality Mo Deen, who followed him around a store and offered him advice. Cena stayed calm, but lectured him about being respectful and perhaps asking permission before recording him on his personal time.
Cena later told Chris Van Vliet that he maintained his composure because he doesn’t want to endorse videos like this, sharing that he doesn’t want to give in and react poorly during an invasion of his privacy.
Last summer, Cena also took issue with a fan recording him backstage at Fanatics Fest in New York. Cena initially walked off, but later returned and explained to the fan that he’s willing to participate as long as people ask permission first.
