Gail Kim recently reacted to the ongoing situation between TNA and AEW, and her message was clear.
The issue started after Carlos Silva confirmed that several TNA wrestlers were pulled from indie events. These events included matches against AEW talent. He explained the decision by pointing to “partner conflicts.” But more details came out later.
TNA also pulled Moose from a Maple Leaf Pro show despite earlier approval, but crossover plans aren’t fully halted, with MJF vs. Nic Nemeth still expected. Reports revealed that MJF was supposed to face Bear Bronson at a GCW event.
That match got blocked. That created confusion and some TNA wrestlers were reportedly frustrated by the inconsistency. There was more tension behind the scenes as well. Silva was not happy about AEW scheduling a Collision episode on Thursday.
That decision reportedly came from Warner Bros. Discovery. AEW did not fully control that move. Still, it added to the situation. After TNA pulled its stars from the shows, Gail Kim made one thing clear wrestlers should get paid.
Gail Kim responds after TNA blocks AEW matches on indie shows
After the reports came out, fans started reacting online. One fan questioned whether wrestlers would be paid for missed bookings. They suggested talent should take a stand if they were not compensated.
Gail Kim responded directly to that point. She wrote, “Hopefully they still get compensated. That’s the right thing to do.” Another fan pushed back, arguing TNA only blocked the specific matches, not the wrestlers from working shows entirely.
Kim did not back down. She responded, writing, “I think I have more experience than you in the business. I know what is happening when I read it. Being pulled from shows after being approved is taking money out of these “independent contractors” pockets. If they were booked in their schedules and pulled, they’re controlling their schedules which they should be compensated for. Have you ever worked in the business? And for how long if so?”
Kim, who left TNA in 2025 after a restructuring and legal dispute, still speaks out on industry issues, stressing that wrestlers should be paid if they lose bookings.
