WWE Quietly Updates Brock Lesnar’s Status After Paul Heyman’s Message on RAW

WWE appears to have made a notable behind-the-scenes adjustment following Paul Heyman’s emotional message on the April 20 episode of RAW. A significant change surfaced just days later — though not everyone may have noticed at first glance.

The development comes in the aftermath of Brock Lesnar’s apparent retirement at WrestleMania 42. He left his gloves and boots in the ring after losing to Oba Femi, signalling his farewell to the squared circle. The symbolic exit spoke louder than any promo ever could.

WWE moves Brock Lesnar to ‘Forever’ section in updated intro

During the April 24 episode of SmackDown, WWE quietly updated its opening video package. Without any on-air acknowledgment, Lesnar was shifted from the “now” segment to the “forever” section. This is a move that mirrors Heyman’s passionate demand on RAW.

At the same time, new names such as Oba Femi and Trick Williams were added to the “now” portion, signaling a passing of the torch. It’s a subtle production tweak. However, in wrestling terms, it lands like a finishing move — quiet, effective, and hard to ignore once spotted.

Heyman’s RAW segment set the tone for this change. Speaking with visible emotion, he urged WWE to recognize Lesnar’s legacy permanently, calling him “the single baddest champion” the company has seen. The moment earned a standing ovation, reinforcing the weight behind his words.

While the intro change suggests a curtain call, backstage reports paint a slightly more complex picture. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, a strong belief persists internally that Lesnar’s WrestleMania actions were a genuine farewell. However, some within WWE haven’t completely ruled out one final appearance.

Reports suggest there is at least some hope that Lesnar could feature at SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis — his home turf — though no plans are confirmed. For now, he remains listed as a “free agent” on WWE’s roster page.

Whether this is truly the end or just one last tease before another “beastly” comeback, Lesnar’s status sits in that familiar gray area — not quite pinned, not quite counted out.
