The May 12 episode of WWE NXT featured a wild moment involving the debutant Mason Rook, as the powerhouse officially signed his NXT contract after taking out six men with a moonsault at ringside.
The contract signing began with Robert Stone standing in the ring and talking about NXT being the best place in wrestling for new talent. Things then changed when Mason Rook walked out.
The English wrestler introduced himself to the NXT crowd and spoke about his experience wrestling across Europe and Japan. He stated that he has already built a name for himself everywhere he has competed.
Rook also referenced John Cena’s Instagram post and said, “The greatest of all time, John Cena sees me.” He then called himself a “flying human tank,” which perfectly fits his style. Even though he is a heavyweight, he is known for pulling off athletic moves that fans usually don’t expect from someone his size.
Rook also said he didn’t come to NXT just to be another new signing that stays in the middle of the pack. He claimed he is the best wrestler in the world and warned everyone that he would run through anyone standing in his way.
That immediately brought out Tony D’Angelo.
Mason Rook takes out six men with a huge moonsault
The NXT Champion confronted Rook and accused him of causing problems before even officially joining the roster. D’Angelo mentioned the attacks Rook had carried out over the last few weeks, which already made him look like one of the most dangerous newcomers in NXT.
At first, D’Angelo said he only wanted to talk business, but the situation quickly got out of control.
Suddenly, Kam Hendrix rushed to the ringside and attacked D’Angelo from behind. The distraction gave Rook the perfect chance to strike again.
A few moments later, Rook climbed to the top rope at the corner and hit a huge moonsault onto D’Angelo, Hendrix, and four other security guards outside the ring. The crowd exploded as the newcomer wiped everyone out in one massive move.
After taking out everyone at ringside, Rook casually got back into the ring, signed his NXT contract, and tossed the paperwork back toward Robert Stone.
