Dragon Lee may not have appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 42, but fans now believe his return could be happening soon. The RAW star recently posted a cryptic message online that seemingly revealed his return timeline.
The post sparked speculation based on all sorts of things. Nevertheless, the interaction seems more likely to be a hint at a return. Lee just tweeted, “2-3 weeks.”
Meanwhile, wrestling insider Cory Hays later reshared Lee’s tweet and wrote that Lee possibly needed some time to recover physically after his brutal WrestleMania 42 match.
That lines up with Lee’s “2-3 weeks” post, which could mean he is getting close to returning.
Dragon Lee has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania 42
Lee last wrestled during night two of WrestleMania 42 in the six-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship. The match included Lee, Penta, Rey Mysterio, Je’Von Evans, Rusev, and JD McDonagh. In the end, Penta retained the title.
After the match, Lee was seen favoring his leg and thigh while walking backstage with Penta and Rey Mysterio. WWE never officially confirmed an injury, but reports after WrestleMania said the high-flying star was pretty banged up from the match.
Lee’s return timeline could fit perfectly with upcoming WWE and AAA events. WWE is set to hold AAA Noche de los Grandes in Mexico on May 30, and Lee still has strong ties with AAA. If everything goes well with his recovery, that event could emerge as the destination of his comeback.
Even though he has been missing from RAW, Dragon Lee has stayed active during public appearances. During WrestleMania weekend, he appeared alongside Rey Fenix at a fan meet-and-greet event hosted in Los Angeles.
Lee’s absence has stood out because his momentum had been growing steadily over the last few months. He also gained a lot from working alongside AJ Styles before Styles’ retirement earlier this year. It helped Lee get more TV exposure.
After Styles stepped away, Lee continued honoring him by using the Styles Clash as part of his moveset. Lee also competed in a singles match against Gunther after he retired Styles. Those moments helped raise Lee’s profile on the main roster. He will be aiming to pick up where he left off when he eventually returns.
