Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu pushed The Bloodline saga into even more dangerous territory during the May 18 episode of WWE RAW, as a chaotic opening segment ended with Tribal Combat officially back on the table.
The Greensboro Coliseum crowd barely had time to settle in before tensions exploded. Reigns arrived looking furious after last week’s events and immediately told RAW General Manager Adam Pearce he planned to call out Fatu and “take care of things.”
Instead, the “Samoan Werewolf” beat him to the punch — or, in this case, several punches.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu set the stage for Tribal Combat
Fatu entered the arena and demanded Reigns come to the ring so he could “dogwalk his punk ass.” However, before the former Tribal Chief arrived, The Usos stepped in to confront their family member.
Jimmy Uso tried talking sense into Fatu, warning him that his actions could cost him everything. Fatu refused to back down, repeatedly saying he would do anything to better his family’s life — even if it meant refusing to acknowledge Roman Reigns.
Like any good Bloodline story, the peace talks lasted about as long as a Royal Rumble surprise entrance.
The confrontation quickly turned physical after Jey Uso swung a chair at Fatu. Despite taking punishment from all three men, Fatu kept fighting back. Reigns eventually joined the brawl, and the numbers game finally caught up to Jacob after multiple superkicks, a spear, a 1D, and a Superman Punch left him laid out in the ring.
As Reigns prepared to leave, Adam Pearce stormed out and suggested Fatu might need to be fired following his recent issues with management. Before the RAW GM could continue, Fatu grabbed a microphone and challenged Reigns to Tribal Combat.
Pearce immediately tried shutting the idea down, but Reigns paused, looked toward The Usos, then accepted the challenge anyway.
Michael Cole noted on commentary that the match will likely take place at Clash in Italy, though WWE has not officially confirmed the date. One thing already feels certain — when Tribal Combat returns, family business is going to get very ugly.
