Cody Rhodes won his match at WWE Clash in Italy, although the finish was a controversial one. Either way, Rhodes says he’s ready to answer the call if Gunther wants another shot.
Rhodes beat Gunther at WWE Clash in Italy, although the challenger disputed the suspect finish, which saw Rhodes get the win despite Gunther’s foot being under the ropes. Gunther was clearly upset as the replay proved his point, and Rhodes addressed the controversy on the post-show.
Rhodes says he sees the issue in hindsight, and welcomes a rematch if Gunther wants it.
“I think it’s important because I know you’re going to ask me about it and I know everyone saw it. I didn’t see it in the moment; I definitely saw it in the replay; if Gunther wants a rematch, I’d do a rematch with Gunther right here, right now,” Rhodes explained.
“And if anyone deserves one, you can throw all the preexisting issues between us away,” he continued. “And if anyone deserves one, he certainly deserves one. So I understand a win’s a win, but that’s not how you want to do it, especially in front of a wonderful crowd like this. If he wants one, I’m here for it.”
Gunther has not commented on Rhodes’ comments yet, but you can check out his reaction to the match finish here.
