A new report provides more insight into Liv Morgan‘s Queen of the Ring involvement.
On-screen, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan attributes her entry into the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament to her desire to “take it all” in WWE. Behind the scenes, it reportedly stems from Morgan’s planned foe, Stephanie Vaquer, currently being sidelined due to injury.
“I asked about the Liv Morgan thing and basically the mentality is what they’ve planned out with her involves Stephanie Vaquer and she’s not ready [to return] yet. So when she’s ready, they will resume,” Ibou of Self Made Sessions said.
“My immediate retort was ‘So why not just come up with something else in the in between time?’ But that’s just not how they operate for whatever reason. Basically, they’re going to just do the next step with Stephanie. Stephanie’s hurt, so Liv’s just going to exist in the meantime.”
Following Morgan and Vaquer’s clash at WrestleMania 42, WWE commentator Michael Cole indicated that Vaquer had suffered a “second-degree AC sprain” in her shoulder, which meant she’d be out of action an indefinite period of time. As of mid-May, creative discussions about Vaquer’s on-screen WWE return had reportedly begun, though the planned timing of it was unclear.
In Vaquer’s absence, Morgan supported her Judgment Day stablemates in their various matches on WWE Raw. Next week, Morgan herself will return to in-ring action when she faces Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, and Chelsea Green in the Queen of the Ring tournament’s first round. The winner of the entire tourney will earn a world title shot at WWE SummerSlam, set for August 1 and 2.
