Seth Rollins believes it’s time for everyone to stop acknowledging Roman Reigns.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show to promote his upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match against Reigns at WWE SummerSlam, Rollins took a playful shot at his longtime rival’s “Tribal Chief” persona, saying Reigns has received more than enough recognition over the years.
“How much acknowledgement does this guy need?” Rollins asked. “How much do we need to just put a finger in the air and acknowledge Roman Reigns? How much longer is this going to go on? What kind of validation are you seeking, sir?
“Come on. Get over it. We get it. Tribal Chief, Head of the Table, yada yada yada. You got the teeth, it’s all there. We get it. We’ve acknowledged you plenty. Time to move on.”
Rollins then turned his attention to the blockbuster SummerSlam main event, where he will challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Visionary noted that the title carries added significance because he never lost it in the ring.
“I had to relinquish my World Heavyweight Championship back in October when I hurt my shoulder,” Rollins said. “Now I’m coming back. This is my first crack at getting that title that I never lost. The fact that it’s sitting on Roman’s shoulder, who’s a guy that I’ve got a ton of history with, it’s going to be a special night.”
