Chelsea Green Praises Maria Kanellis As ‘The Reason I Understand How To Be A Character’

One-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green recently opened up about Maria Kanellis.

The WWE Superstar has been in the wrestling business for almost a decade. She has been part of several wrestling promotions including IMPACT Wrestling, Lucha Underground, Ring of Honor, and a few independent circuits.

Green was managed by Maria Kanellis during her time in IMPACT Wrestling. The self-proclaimed Leader of the Knockouts Division has built a career of managing several top stars in the business. She has managed wrestlers such as Jeff Hardy, Dolph Ziggler, and The Kingdom. The Kingdom includes her husband Mike Bennett and Matt Taven.

Recently, Kanellis highlighted her accomplishments by sharing a photo on Twitter. Upon seeing the tweet, Chelsea Green replied that Maria was an inspiration and claimed she is the G.O.A.T.

“Literally the only reason I understand how to be a character. Maria is the GOAT of believable overacting,” Chelsea Green tweeted.

Chelsea Green’s First WWE Title

Back in July, during an episode of Monday Night Raw, Chelsea Green and her tag team partner Sonya Deville, defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

This was the Hot Mess’ first major title win in the Stamford-based promotion. During a recent interview with Ringside Collectibles, Green opened up about her title win.

“I mean, it feels exactly like it should. It fits me. It fits perfectly. I waited eight years for this moment. I was fired numerous times. I’ve begged for my job back numerous times, and here we are. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or the squeaky wheel gets the championship,” Chelsea Green said.

Deville had surgery for a torn ACL and she will be out indefinitely. Green still holds one-half of the tag team titles. A couple of weeks ago, Piper Niven showed up and claimed to be the Hot Mess’ partner but she also missed Monday’s show.
