The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching while you’re at home and they come recommended by your favorite professional wrestling stars.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Jax Dane, who picked his recent match with Chris Adonis as one that stood out because of the history they shared with each other.
“Well, probably my favorite wrestling match is Chris Adonis. Chris and I have quite a bit of history together. We started around the same time in Ohio Valley Wrestling. We’re trained together, both trained by Rip Rogers early on in our careers. Then seven or eight years off, Chris had massive success with the WWE,” Jax Dane said. “So being able to compete against him later in his career and later in my career, that match means a lot to me just because of who Chris Adonis is and what he’s accomplished. So that’s the one to me that sticks out the most,” Dane said. “…or the 37-second match that I won the [National] title in, either of those.”
Jax Dane beat former friend Mayweather for the National Championship at this year’s Crockett Cup, picking up a decisive win after the two met in a back-and-forth match just moments prior. Dane noted that his win wasn’t a long battle, but that doesn’t take away from it at all.
“What do you think it was? 37 seconds of an ass-whoopin’ is exactly what it was. Just because it wasn’t a long period of time doesn’t mean it wasn’t a full match,” Dane stated. “I don’t get paid the hour. Nobody says, hey, the longer you’re out there, the more you get paid. My contract’s the same, whether it’s 30 seconds or 3 minutes or 30 minutes, right? So I don’t intend on being out there very long, I guess you might say.”
