Babes of Wrath Take AEW Women’s Tag Titles

The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) made history this week as they defeated The Timeless Love Bomb to become the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Nightingale and Cameron’s journey to championship gold began with an upset victory over Mercedes Moné and Athena — the AEW TBS and ROH Women’s World Champion, respectively — in the tag title tournament’s opening round. From there, the Babes of Wrath bested the Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) to cement their spot in the finals. Storm and Shirakawa solidified theirs by beating Riho and Alex Windsor, then Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.

In the closing moments of the tournament finals, Nightingale suplexed Storm on the outside floor, leaving Cameron and Shirakawa to fight back and forth in the ring. Cameron eventually gained the upper hand when she countered the Glorious Driver and drove Shirakawa into the mat. With Shirakawa dazed, Nightingale then followed with a Babe with the Powerbomb for the match-winning pinfall.

Afterward, Nightingale and Cameron celebrated by proudly raising their AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships. Meanwhile, Shirakawa and Storm were left disappointed, but determined to pursue the titles again.

“The title of the first-ever champion is something that will be remembered forever,” Shirakawa wrote on X. “I wanted us to be the ones to make that history. I always fall just one step short of reaching the belt. But I’ll face this pain head-on, and Toni and I will definitely take that championship. Never give up.”

Kendal Grey Conquers The NXT Iron Survivor Challenge

A new number contender for the NXT Women’s Championship emerged at WWE NXT Deadline, but not without a close fight.

For the fourth year in a row, five women competed in the Iron Survivor Challenge, with the winner earning a future shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. This 2025 field consisted of: Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, Jordynne Grace, Kelani Jordynne, and Kendal Grey.

Heading into the final 60 seconds of the 25-minute affair, all five women were tied with two falls each. Seeing this, Ruca tried scoring a third for herself by planting Vice with a Sol Snatcher, then rolling her into the ring. Before Ruca could capitalize, though, Kelani burst out of the nearby penalty box and kicked her damaged knee. With Vice lying in the ring, Kelani then descended upon her with a 450 Splash.

Like Ruca, Kelani was unable to secure another fall as Grace launched herself onto top of her. While Grace and Kelani brawled on the outside afterward, Grey escaped the penalty box to deliver a jumping flatliner on Vice for her match-winning third fall.

Looking ahead, Grey will challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT New Year’s Evil on January 6. Grey will have Wren Sinclair in her corner; Jayne arrives with her Fatal Influence stablemates, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.

Red Velvet Upsets ‘The CEO’ At ROH Final Battle

Last month, Mercedes Moné bested Red Velvet to become the Undisputed Ring of Honor Women’s Television Champion. Unfortunately for “The CEO,” that added label as “undisputed” didn’t last very long.

At ROH Final Battle, Moné and Velvet met in a rematch, with the Ring of Honor Women’s Television Championship on the line. Similar to their previous encounter, Moné seemed poised to win when she locked Velvet in the Statement Maker. Velvet, however, suddenly reversed the submission into a match-winning roll-up that not only surprised Moné, but also the fans watching at home. With it, Velvet officially reclaimed the title, cementing herself as the first-ever two-time ROH Women’s Television Champion.

Elsewhere at Final Battle, Deonna Purrazzo and Billie Starkz collided in the finals of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament. Purrazzo advanced to the finals after Queen Aminata forfeited due to a neck injury; Starkz overcame Yuka Sakazaki in the semi-finals to secure her respective spot. In the end, it was Purrazzo who emerged victorious, courtesy of the Venus De Milo submission.
