#2.) Becky Lynch – 2018

2017 was perhaps the worst year for Becky Lynch on the main roster. She had no momentum, one title shot and was largely irrelevant. It was only in 2018 where she started gathering some steam again with a string of wins and by the time the year was halfway through, she found herself with the best winning streak on SmackDown and another title shot at long last.

As was the story before, Charlotte Flair interjected and inserted herself in a title match where Carmella was the champion. Lynch had all the momentum in the world but fans were outraged when Flair pinned her to become champion again. Becky Lynch turned heel, but based on the reaction, you’d think that she was the biggest babyface ever.

The more WWE tried to push her as a heel, the louder the cheers got. Fans felt injustice towards her and got behind her like never before. Vince McMahon couldn’t deny her anymore and The Man persona became the leading female star in WWE. It would lead her on an incredible road where she won and lost the SmackDown Women’s title before winning the Royal Rumble and eventually main eventing WrestleMania, where she became the first woman to pin Ronda Rousey and subsequently became a double champion.
