Kofi Kingston’s 5 Best Feuds in WWE

Kofi Kingston has been a mainstay in WWE for nearly 15 years. He’s had tremendous success with The New Day. He’s also had the distinction of being the first African-born WWE Champion in the company’s decades-old history.

Moreover, Kofi Kingston has been a part of some notable feuds in WWE. He’s taken on the likes of Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan (popularly known as Bryan Danielson), with his feud against the latter turning him into a world champion.

With that being said, let’s take a look at Kofi Kingston’s 5 Best Feuds in WWE.

Ivar

Fans who’ve been tuning into RAW for the past several weeks might be familiar with Kofi Kingston’s feud against Ivar. The one-half of the Viking Raiders is reportedly getting a singles push for the first time in his WWE career. Ivar’s push comes in the wake of an unfortunate injury to his tag team partner, Erik, who was said to be injured during a match against The New Day.

In storyline, Ivar and Erik’s wife Valhalla (Sarah Logan) blame The New Day for putting the Viking on the shelf. The ensuing angle saw Ivar decimate Kingston in a vicious assault. The pair had an excellent singles match on the September 18, 2023, episode of RAW. They took things up a notch with a Viking Rules match on the October 9 episode of the red brand.

It’s great to see Ivar thrive in singles competition and there’s no better opponent to set him off on a singles run than Kofi Kingston.

Dolph Ziggler

Kofi Kingston once said he and Dolph Ziggler could have a best-of-500 series because of their amazing chemistry. The pair carried SmackDown’s midcard division during the 2010s by putting on spectacular matches.

Their battles over the Intercontinental title are considered the high point of their illustrious careers. Kingston’s cat-like agility, coupled with Ziggler’s immaculate in-ring work, helped WWE produce one of the most interesting feuds of the era.

Also, Ziggler’s “it should’ve been me” promo came at the expense of Kofi Kingston.

The Usos

Kofi Kingston has named The Usos as his best opponents. If you’ve seen the twins’ legendary tag team battle with The New Day, then there’s no need to explain his pick. The two teams have been involved in many classic matches over the past decade.

From the war inside Hell in a Cell to the verbal rap battle on SmackDown, the two teams have given their one hundred percent to the feud. Without the two teams, WWE’s tag team division wouldn’t have been where it is today.

Randy Orton

One of the highlights of Kofi Kington’s WWE career came in the form of a heated feud against Randy Orton in 2009. The Viper found himself on the receiving end of a beating at the hands of Kingston during a match with John Cena. This lead to their traditional 5-on-5 elimination match-up at Survivor Series, which Kingston won after last eliminating Orton.

The feud really took a turn for better or worse, depends on how you look at it, from there. Kingston would ruin Orton’s car and then Boom Drop him through a table on RAW in Madison Square Garden. However, his push seemingly came do an end after he botched the finish of a match with Orton on the January 4, 2010, episode of RAW.

The spot led to Orton delivering an RKO on Kingston followed by his infamous “you’re stupid” rant against the former Intercontinental Champion. The pair would reignite the feud during Kofi Kington’s WWE Championship reign in 2019, with the champion finally going over against his former rival.

Daniel Bryan

There’s no hyperbole in saying that Daniel Bryan is one of the true professionals to ever lace up a pair of boots inside the squared circle. The American Dragon has put over many performers in his illustrious career. But nothing would probably ever top what he did for Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35.

Back in 2019, Danielson had been on the cusp of his underrated “Planet Champion” run. The American Dragon engaged in a heated feud with Kofi Kingston over the WWE Championship. Kingston lost multiple opportunities at the title until WrestleMania 35, when he finally beat his archrival to kick off “KofiMania” in the grandest of fashion.
