WWE SmackDown Preview (5/10/24)

It’s almost time for WWE SmackDown. Tonight’s episode of the blue brand emanates live from the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wilkes-Barre, PA. WWE has already announced a couple of matches for the show.

This week’s episode of SmackDown will see the continuation of King and Queen of the Ring Tournament. So, without further ado, let’s see what’s in store for the May 10, 2024, episode of the blue brand.

Naomi vs. Nia Jax – WWE Queen of the Ring First Round

Nia Jax moved from RAW to WWE SmackDown as part of the 2024 WWE Draft. The Irresistible Force immediately targeted WWE Women’s Champion Bayley. Nia’s quest to become a champion once again brings her on a collision course with Naomi.

Both women will collide in the first round of the Queen of the Ring Tournament tonight on SmackDown. Can Naomi stop Nia in her tracks? Will Nia continue her way past Naomi in her quest to become the Queen of the Ring?

Jade Cargill vs. Piper Niven – Queen of the Ring First Round on WWE SmackDown

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Backlash France. Both women will be in action tonight on WWE SmackDown. Jade will make her SmackDown singles in-ring debut against Piper Niven.

For those unaware, Piper competed in the 2021 Queen of the Ring Tournament. The former Doudrop defeated Natalya in the quarterfinals before losing to Shayna Baszler in the semi-finals on the October 18, 2021, episode of RAW.

Bianca Belair vs. Candice LeRae – Queen of the Ring First Round

Candice LeRae’s first night as a SmackDown superstar will see her take on the EST of WWE. Candice and Indi Hartwell were both drafted to the blue brand as part of the 2024 WWE Draft.

Can the former NXT Women’s Champion make it past one-half of the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions? We’ll find out tonight.

Tama Tonga vs. Angelo Dawkins – King of the Ring First Round on WWE SmackDown

Tama Tonga was originally scheduled to face Bobby Lashley in the first round of the WWE SmackDown bracket. Unfortunately, Lashley injured himself while training for King of the Ring in the lead-up to the showdown.

General Manager Nick Aldis announced Angelo Dawkins as Lashley’s replacement. Can Tama Tonga claim his first singles win in WWE, or will Dawkins prove to be a worthy replacement for the Almighty?

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles – King of the Ring First Round

AJ Styles and Randy Orton both came up short in their singles and tag team matches, respectively, at Backlash France. Tonight, the two former opponents collide against each other with the opportunity to advance in the next round of the King of the Ring tournament.
