CENA/PUNK – ONE STEP ???
I'm reserving all judgement when it comes to the John Cena/CM Punk championship match tomorrow.
Kudos to WWE for wasting very little time with the MITB contract and providing RAW1K that extra bit of oomph it could have otherwise lacked without this match. Tomorrow night will be full of fun nostalgia, but WWE can't forget about Raw #1001, #1002 and so on.
I honestly don't think they have forgotten. The AJ/Bryan wedding, the HHH/Lesnar confrontation, and now the John Cena/CM Punk match give us much more to look forward to outside of the surprises and comedic relief you can expect.
These are things that will help shape the immediate future of the company and that makes tomorrow's show meaningful, not just fun.
Who wins? Probably Cena, but I'm going with CM Punk.
I just went on a tyrade about WWE protecting Cena too much, and although Punk isn't a heel, I do think he should get the win tomorrow over Cena. If Cena with the title is in the cards, let him take it at SummerSlam, AFTER Punk has at least been allowed one major win over him.
A win tomorrow tops off a respectable title run for Punk, while a loss could very well cement the fact he isn't on the same level as Cena.
