Title That: WWE Raw Reaction August 19th, 2013

-CM Punk comes out and is pissed off. He actually verbally assaults a fan that is booing him, saying a ton of things the censors aren't allowed to show us – I wonder if he got any heat for that backstage; I'm guessing not. Out comes Paul Heyman with Curtis Axel. After a commercial break (how awkward for the live crowd), Axel dumps the Intercontinental Championship on the ramp and gets in the ring.

CM Punk vs. Curtis Axel isn't actually a match, but rather a fight. Punk uses a chair on the back of Axel, but the champion starts to focus on his injuries from SummerSlam. The two fought around ringside, into the timekeeper's area and over the announce table, using ring bells, random boxes, chairs and more. Axel hits his finisher and tries to break Punk's ankle with a chair, but Punk escapes and hits him with a GTS on the steps. This was a great fight that lasted an entire segment, and was probably the first time I was legitimately impressed with Curtis Axel. Of course, Paul Heyman told a lot of the story himself, but Punk and Axel will probably put on a good program going into Night of Champions.

Grade: A

Bray Wyatt def. R-Truth with Sister Abigail. A short match that the crowd wasn't really into, unfortunately. I'm worried the gimmick isn't working. NXT fans loved it, but he's just not drawing the heat I would expect from such a great debuting month. I think if they eventually bring Kane back as a member of the Family, it may help them get over.

Grade: D-

The Usos def. 3MB in another quick match the fans weren't into. Great to see the WWE giving the tag team division a workout with many of the main event guys beaten up from SummerSlam, but this really wasn't all that interesting.
