Jim RossJim Ross – One Step Up

Congratulations to Jim Ross who recently landed a spot with Fox Sports, finalized his podcast deal, and seems to be having early ticket success for his one-man show. Personally, I'm a little bummed; I was hoping to be the guy J.R. called for his podcasting needs, but I digress.

Jim Ross's "retirement" is truly a win-win. It's great for him, as proven by the successes and opportunities just mentioned. It's also a win for wrestling fans who enjoy reading/hearing his thoughts and opinions on the business. No longer will he have the limitations and restrictions that comes with being an employee of the organization you're critiquing.

Even then, however, Ross was someone worth paying attention to. Now, I can only expect that he'll be "more" candid, open and honest. There's no need for political correctness anymore.

And honesty doesn't have to come in the form of personal attacks and insults, but that's not a problem for Ross. He already knows the difference.

I hope I get the chance to attend one of his shows this year, and encourage any true wrestling fan go if they have the chance.

As far as the "shocking" revelation that the 2K14 debacle is what in fact led to his early departure, was anyone truly surprised? It's the dog-eat-dog world of the pro wrestling business. Hell, business, in general.

20 years of loyal and quality service, only to be forced out over something so petty. Certainly not fLair!

Yep, I'm done after that one.
