WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Kofi starts off with a few kicks and Devon hits a spinning elbow and then Bubba Ray gets involved. Dudley’s get some tag team offense in the mix and then Bubba Ray hits some punches in the head. Big E gets in the ring and stomps away at Devon in the corner. Kofi and Big E really isolate Devon, with E hitting a splash on the mat. New Day tries to imitate the flying headbutt, but Bubba gets the hot tag. He hits a few clotheslines and then a back body drop, followed by some punches. He hits a power slam and Devon hits a flying headbutt. Kofi hits a flying split kick and then grabs the trombone, throwing it into the hands of Bubba. He wants to get a disqualification and Kofi yells.
Bubba breaks the trombone and they hit a reverse neckbreaker. Kofi kicks out at two. Big E hits Devon with the trombone and Bubba gets hit with Trouble in Paradise.
I am surprised at how this match was booked. I do not disagree with the finish, but the match seemed a little sloppy with execution. The Dudley Boyz will go where? What do they do now? Because of a dirty finish, they can get one more match. The New Day just was not the same without Xavier Woods. This was a very average match.
WWE Divas Championship
Nikki and Charlotte lock up and hits a neck breaker. She punches her in the corner and then hits a hurricanranna. Charlotte punches her and then kicks her in the stomach. Nikki connects with a forearm and Charlotte spills to the outside. Nikki throws Charlotte over the barricade and into the crowd. Nikki jumps from the barricade and kicks Charlotte in the stomach.
She continues to throw her around the barricade. Back in the ring, Nikki gets her in a headlock and then a suplex. Charlotte reverses out of another suplex and then kicks her. She rolls him up for a two count. Half crab lock from Nikki and more kicks to the champions back. Charlotte reverses a big move from the top, similar to a hurricanranna and electric chair. Charlotte tries to lock in the Figure 8, but Nikki makes it to the ropes. Charlotte spills to the outside and Nikki hits an Alabama Slam into the apron. Charlotte is able to reverse a submission move and make her tap to the Figure 8.
Another excellent match and another big match from Charlotte. Nikki Bella was spectacular. She belongs in the picture for the foreseeable future. She was just excellent and made this match look great. I think that there needed to be a focus on less women and more on the title. Sometimes it seems like there is an overstock of women trying to get their due. Simplify it and make sure the title is always the prize, not being in a stable. But, one could argue that the big spots in this match made a great story and made this feel important on a big stage. How about that move from the top? How about the Alabama Slam into the apron? They brought out the big guns.
