Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “What Happened To Your Secondary Championships?”

Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong

impact wrestlingThe battle of two women who are completely different in styles compete in the main event of Impact. Gail used strike and move tactic, going back and forth with some offense and able to get into the head of Kong. It did not take Kong to get back in control, working a few big power moves and really setting up for a nice finish.

As the match went on and ended with Kim cradling her leg, I thought that TNA did a really good job at promoting their strongest division, which is women. There is a flaw, however.

An issue I have with this entire series is that there is NO emphasis on the other titles in the company. The action and wrestling is good, but the direction of it is completely detoured. Where is the Knockouts Championship? How about the tag division, a division that thrived over the past 18 months?

TNA lost focus on every other title and I am not sure that it is a good thing overall. If they know where they are going with this, I can maybe make an exception and understand. But, I do not think anyone understands. Too many “divisions.” Too many moving pieces. Simply it and strip it down sooner rather than later.
