Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “A Trade Is In Sight, Women Steal The Night”

Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens

Instead of having Seth Rollins lose once again to Kevin Owens, WWE is giving us Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens at WWE Roadblock. Tonight was a match that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Via WZ Live Coverage:

Reigns charges at Owens, but Owens pulls the Referee in the way. Reigns stops himself from crushing the Referee. Owens DDTs Reigns for a two count. Cannonball by Owens. Owens locks in a rear chin lock. Reigns struggles to get to the ropes. Before Reigns can get to the ropes, Owens lets go and hits a senton to Reigns back. Owens locks in the rear chin lock once again. Owens goes for another senton, but Reigns gets his knees up. Reigns hits multiple clotheslines in the corner, followed by a big boot. Reigns tries a Samoan drop, but Owens wiggles out of it. Reigns and Owens trade blows in the middle of the ring. Reigns hits a one-armed Samoan drop for a long two count.

Owens goes up top but Reigns cuts him off. Reigns tries to set up a superplex but Owens pushes him off. Reigns Superman punches Owens, which causes Owens to tumble off the top rope. Owens tries to crawl away, but Reigns hits another Superman punch on the outside. Reigns calls for the Spear, but Owens knees him in the head. Owens hits the ropes and runs right into a Spear. Owens is done.

I am never a huge fan of the World or Universal champion being pinned clean, but enough is enough with constant disqualifications and interference calls. It is something that happens more than usual in WWE. A battle, back and forth, with both men showing how physical and tough they could be was the story of tonight. We got “Fight Owens Fight” and we got “The Guy.” Sometimes, you just have to let it unfold and see what happens. Let’s be realistic for a second, okay? There is no chance that Roman Reigns beats Kevin Owens at WWE Roadblock. It is not happening. They will give us a great match, similar to tonight, and prepare themselves for their feuds in 2017.

If I am WWE, I think Roman Reigns needs to feud with Baron Corbin. It is simple, Daniel Bryan is fed up with Corbin. Foley is fed up with Zayn. There is your trade. Logical, makes sense and gives RAW a much needed heel who can thrive with a guy like Roman Reigns.

The Fun of Rich Swann

205 Live debuts Tuesday night at 10pm on the WWE Network and Brian Kendrick will defend against Rich Swann, who picked up a victory tonight on RAW. If you are looking for energy, fun and charisma, look no further than him. Swann is a pure athlete with plenty to offer in the ring. His gimmick can be a little corny, but so was The New Day’s in the past. If I am WWE, milk his gimmick as long as possible. I do not see him becoming champion immediately, but he is infectious to watch. Tonight was a sample taste of what he can bring, nothing more or less than that.
