Since Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles signed with WWE, everyone has wanted to see them fight, team, cooperate or even be in the same ring as one another. Tonight was a perfect sample size of this, as they took on Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens. First off, it makes Dolph feel so much more important to be in the ring with these three guys. Even though he lost, he still felt like he belonged there tonight. The match was great, a solid 15-20 minutes of action that featured two feud being turned into one.

All four of these men will join Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler in a Money in the Bank Ladder match in 4 weeks. Perfect execution from WWE Smackdown Live’s part, as we can see a nice combination of teams, matches and action from all six men in the coming weeks. Tonight was a great start to get the spotlight on Shinsuke and AJ once again, considering one was victorious and the other suffered a loss. Kevin Owens continues to impress me with the little things in the ring. He never breaks character and he seems like his real personality is what we get on Smackdown Live.

Looking at early odds for Money in the Bank, I would love to see Nakamura win it and fast track him to the top, but I can’t see him carrying a briefcase around. I mean, come on! How can he do his entrance with it? Jokes aside, Baron and Sami are two guys that would benefit the most. This can help elevate them to a status that the other four are or already were at previously. With how Smackdown Live is built, they give opportunities to fresh faces from May-November and then get serious heading into WrestleMania.
