Kofi Kingston Talks Being One Of Few African American Champions, Wanting To Inspire Those With Insecurities

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston was recently interviewed by The Herald-Dispatch to promote a WWE event in Huntington, West Virginia. Kingston talked about being one of a few African American WWE Champions in history, as well as his desire to inspire those who struggle with insecurity.

Being one of a few African American WWE Champions in history:

I think we’re definitely on the right track,” Kingston said. “Obviously being one of very few African American WWE champions has really opened up some doors in terms of providing a little motivation and a sense that anything is possible because it actually happened.

Desire to inspire those who struggle with insecurity:

I have very skinny legs and I have a very weird chest and I go out there with my shirt off every week,” Kingston said. “Now they can look at me and say you know what, he’s had a hard journey. I take a lot of pride of being a representative of people of all backgrounds.
