AJ Styles Feels Responsible For Luke Gallows And Karl Anderson’s WWE Releases, Says It’s ‘Devastating’

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were just two of the Superstars released by WWE on Wednesday, and now their O.C. stablemate AJ Styles has shared his thoughts on the matter.

Styles was streaming on his Mixer channel when he addressed this week’s cuts, noting that Gallows and Anderson were like brothers to him and this one hurt a lot.

“The only way I know how to explain it is like—these guys are my family and I couldn’t take care of my little brothers, you know what I’m saying? That’s the way I feel about it,” Styles said. “I’m the eldest, I’m supposed to take care of them and I didn’t manage to do that. I feel responsible in some weird way for them being released. It’s devastating, I don’t know any other way to explain it.”

Styles went down the list and named some of the other wrestlers affected by the cuts, including Kurt Angle, Drake Maverick, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, Rusev, Heath Slater and more. “I don’t know how we missed the boat on those guys,” Styles said.

While Styles might feel like he couldn’t do anything to help, it appears Karl Anderson isn’t taking things too hard. “Machine Gun” posted a video yesterday that hinted at a return to Japan in his future, a possible teaser that he’s already setting up his next move in the world of professional wrestling.
