NXT is about to expand internationally once again.
According to Post Wrestling’s John Pollock and Brandon Thurston, an NXT India program will begin in January 2021. Per Thurston, the show will broadcast on the WWE Network worldwide and on linear television in India. The show will feature an eight-man single-elimination tournament to start off the series.
.@iamjohnpollock and I have learned WWE will be launching an NXT India program. It's expected to begin taping in January and to be broadcast digitally via the WWE Network and on linear television in India.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that NXT has expanded. An NXT UK show launched in 2018 after that extension was announced by Triple H in 2016. Other additions have been rumored including NXT Japan. The pandemic seemed to have delayed the expansion plans, but clearly WWE is moving forward with international performance centers and further NXT brands as 2021 nears.
India has been a key expansion area for WWE in the past couple years with WWE putting on shows, giving Jinder Mahal a title run, and sending ambassadors down regularly.
“[Visiting India in 2017] was an incredible experience,” Triple H said in an interview last year. “I really need to thank the people of India for their continued support of WWE, and it is such an amazing place. We keep sending our ambassadors there to visit — Charlotte Flair just came back after falling in love with India and the people — and they can’t stop raving about it. I can’t wait to come back!”
We will have more on this story as it develops.
