ROH Death Before Dishonor Results (9/12/21)

The Briscoes vs. The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett)

The two teams quickly take the fight to each other, reigniting their once heated rivalry. Mark Briscoe and Taven briefly square off bfore their respective partners tag in. Jay drops Bennett with a forearm, and The Briscoes isolate Bennett. Mark chops Bennett and grounds him as the 11-time ROH World Tag Team champions are firmly in control. Bennett rallies and tags Taven, who takes Mark with a diving dropkick.

The Briscoes regain the upper hand by displaying their unmatched chemistry. Jay plants Taven with a DDT. Taven hits a diving moonsault onto Bennett and Jay at ringside. Mark takes down everyone with a dive of his own.

The Briscoes drop Taven with a double-team boot to the face. A neckbreaker earns Jay a two count. The OGK double-teams Jay, and Taven drills Mark with a superkick. Bennett gets cocky and does a crotch chop, but Mark tags in and clears house. He showcases some “Red Neck Kung Fu” and hits a diving Blockbuster on Taven. Jay turns Taven inside out with a clothesline, and Mark gets a two count with the Froggy Bow.

Bennett drops Jay with a Spear, but Mark catches him with a rolling Death Valley Driver. He dives onto Mark, and Taven cleanly rolls up Jay for the win.

Winners: The OGK

The Briscoes are frustrated, but they hesitantly shake hands with The OGK after the match.

ROH Pure Championship: Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Josh Woods

Gresham and Woods feel each other out with technical holds, and the match is a stalemate early on. Woods makes Gresham use his first ropebreak as the two men continue to battle for positioning. Tthe official charges Woods his first rope break for not breaking a hold in the ropes on time. Gresham takes Woods to the mat, but “The Tactical Beast” takes the advantage. The champion kicks Woods’ arm and takes him down with an arm drag. The champion continues to target Woods’ arm/hand, and the referee gets in the wrestlers’ faces when they don’t heed his order to separate during a ropebreak.

Both men trade blows, and the referee charges both men their second ropebreasks when they again don’t listen to him. Both men roll around on the mat in an inside cradle, battling for positioning, and the referee counts the pin. The referee declares thatthe shoulders for both men were down, so the match is a draw.

Gresham demands him to restart the match because “The Best Professional Wrestler on the World” won’t let the bout end that way. The bell rings, and the two men exchange stiff blows. They trap each other in a leg-lock and trade blows again. Both men are in the ropes, and the referee charges them both their final ropebreaks. Gresham gets a two count with a sunset flip. Woods locks in a sleeper hold and traps Gresham in the body-scissors. Gresham is fading, but he escapes. Woods gets a two count and catches a diving Gresham with a stiff kick. Gresham drills Woods with a series of elbows to the shoulder/neck and gets a two count with a pin attempt. Woods gets out of an ankle lock and traps Gresham in one of his own. Woods plants Gresham with a German suplex for a near fall.

Gresham and Woods hit each other with several strikes, and the champion suplexes Woods. “The Octopus” drills Woods with a forearm to the head and locks in the Kimura. With one arm, Woods powers out of it, tosses Gresham across the ring from the Tombstone position, and pins him for the win.

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor Promotions, Moses and Kaun) (c) vs. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dragon Lee, Kenny King and La Bestia Del Ring)

Before the match, Kenny King brutally attacks Shane Taylor with a chair, and O’Shay Edwards steps up to take his place in the title match. Moses and Kaun square off with Lee and King. The Soldiers of Savagery hold their own, and Edwards matches Bestia’s power. LFI isolates Kaun, as King slams him and gets a two count. LFI continues to gain up on him, but Moses tags in and gains the upper hand. He deadlifts Lee and powerbombs him for a two count. Edwards tags in and slams Lee to the mat, but King and Lee break up the pin. They double-team Edwards, but he drops Lee with a powerbomb. Moses tosses King up and plants him with a cutter,

Lee drops Kaun with a shotgun dropkick. He catches Kaun with a stiff knee, but Edwards breaks up the pin. Edwards squashes King with a diving splash, but Lee and King break up the pin. Bestia dives onto Edwards, and Kaun, Lee, King and Moses follow with dives of their own. Moses and King are left alone in the ring, and they trade blows. Taylor enters the ring and blasts King with a chairshot to the head; the referee doesn’t see it, and Moses pins King to win the bout.

The champions put their boots on King and stand tall after the match.

ROH Women’s World Championship: Miranda Alize vs. Rok-C

This bout is the finals of the ROH Women’s World Championship Tournament. Rok-C and Alize square off and exchange holds. Rok-C gains the upper hand early on. They exchange submission attempts, and the two opponents are evenly matched early on. Rok-C cartwheels to counter Alize and taunts her opponent. Alize blasts her in the face, and the blow only firees Rok-C up. But Alize slams her face-first to the mat. She controls the bout and suplexes Rok-C. “The Prodigy” goes for an arm drag, but Alize bites her fingers.

Rok-C rallies, fueled by the fans’ cheers, but Alize hits a modified hurricanrana. Still, Rok-C perseveres and gets a two count with a diving Thesz Press. She its her signature moonsault knees for another two count. Alize blasts Rok-C with a knee to the face. Alize talks some trash, prompting Rok-C to slap her, but a DDT gets “The Lucha Baddie” a two count. Rok-C struggles to make it to the ropes when Alize locks in a modified choke/crossface, but she does force the break. Rok-C slams Alize into the barricade and dives onto her outside the ring. Alize fires back with a dropkick and a dive of her own. Both women are down, and they narrowly avoid getting counted out.

Back in the ring, Alize catches Rok-C with a cutter, but Rok-C nails an explosive kick that leaves both women down again. Alize locks in the Miranda’s Rights (crossface), but Rok-C counters it into a crossface of her own. Alize escapes and blasts Rok-C with two kicks. Rok-C kicks Alize and hits the Code Red for the win.

Four-Way Elimination match for ROH World Championship: Bandidoo (c) vs. Brody King vs. EC3 vs. Demonic Flamita

King and EC3 begin the bout in the ring while Flamita fights Bandido on the outside. After he tosses EC3 across the ring, King clotheslines him in the corner and tosses him again. Both men tumble to the floor, and Bandido enters the ring with Flamita. They trade remarkably fast offense, as Flamita does a hand-stand and a backflip. Bandido dives onto Flamita outside the ring.

EC3 sends Bandido head-first into the ring post and takes control. He drops Bandido with a Brainbuster. All four men are in the ring, and Ec3 slams Bandido onto KIng. The master of controlling the narrative is firmly in control, and he powerbombs Bandido onto King. Flamita blasts EC3 with a chair, but the referee doesn’t see it. EC3 hits Flamita with the chair, but the referee sees it this time, so he disqualifies EC3.

EC3 has been eliminated. 

Fans see a brief Mexiblood reunion, as Bandido and Flamita double-team King before they embrace. They continue to work together, but King blasts hboth men with thunderous strikes. All three men are down after Bandido and Flamita double-team King. Bandido gets a two count on Flamita and launches him onto King outside the ring. King slams Flamita to the mat with the All-Seeing Eye and pins him to eliminate him.

Demonic Flamita has been eliminated.

King slams Bandido and drops him with a snap piledriver for a two count. Bandido gets a two count of his own with a snap hurricanrana. He drops King with a crucifix driver for a near fall. King kicks out at one after a Shooting Star Press and destroys Bandido with a lariat. Bandido rolls King around the mat and gets a three count with a final roll.

Winner and still ROH World Champion: Bandido

The Foundation comes to the ring and applauds Bandido. Jay Lethal shakes his hand and Jonathan Gresham does, too. But there’s some clear tension, hinting at Grsham’s interest in the gold. Vincent, who has earned a title sbot, and the rest of The Righteous come to the stage and applaud Bandido to close the show.
