IMPACT Wrestling Results (9/16/21)

Tonight on IMPACT Wrestling, Matthew Rehwoldt will battle Trey Miguel, Decay will challenge Violent By Design and we have a massive 10-man tag match for the main event featuring the World Champion, Christian Cage.

MATCH 1

Violent By Design (Rhino & Deaner) vs. Decay (Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus)

Rhino immediately goes after Taurus. Taurus turns that tide on Deaner when he delivered a powerslam. Steve follws that up with a senton. Deaner and Rhino begin to isolate Steve. Steve gets motivated after being bitten by Steve and delivers a flurrry of strikes beforing nipping the forehead of Deaner as a receipt. Steve thwarts Rhino’s interference to leap off the turnbuckle and deliver a tornado DDT to Deaner. 1-2-3.

WINNERS: Decay

Post-match, Eric Young dresses down Rhino in the ring after the loss. This fires Rhino up and the two stand nose to nose. Rhino grabs hold of EY’s arm and Deaner comes in with a cheap shot. Doering joins in on the attack. EY grabs hold of the VBD flag and breaks it over Rhino’s back.

Swinger’s Casino. John E. Bravo pays up Swinger and Alisha reminds Johnny that Bound For Glory is coming up. Swinger isn’t sure who runs IMPACT at the moment and guesses Jerry Jarrett, Dixie Carter and The Harris Brothers. TJP comes in to pay up as well, but Petey Williams is upset that his gambling cost him his match last week. He’s gonna kick TJP’s ass tonight. Swinger takes another stab at who runs IMPACT: the guy from The Smashing Pumpkins?

We see Christian Cage, Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, Josh Alexaander & Chris Sabin with Gia Miller. Sabin makes clear he and Alexander are allies just for tonight and Eddie & Sami show they’re never gonna be friends, but it’s for the greater good. Cage makes clear that Ace Austin reminds him of a younger Christian, but he questions if he’s got what it takes to tangle with him come Victory Road.

MATCH 2

Petey Williams vs. TJP

“Petey” chants start off.  It’s very technical startin off as TJP goes for his Octopus Stretch, but Williams makes it to the ropes. A smooth head scissors by TJP. Petey turns it over with a hold of his own. The two get back to vertical bases after plenty of athleticism is shown. Springboard Codebreaker by Petey. A tilt-a-whirl Russian by Petey gets a two count and we head to break.

Back from it, TJP controls the majority of the pace until Williams locks in a Sharpshooter. TJP makes it to the bottom rope which causes the break. The two exchange pins and as TJP goes for a cradle, Williams sits out of it to pick up the swift 1-2-3.

WINNER: Petey Williams

Post-match, Williams and TJP share a sign of respect. Steve Maclin comes charging in and tree of woe spears Petey before hitting TJP with a broom stick.

Gia is with The Good Brothers. Karl happily admits he had help from Doc Gallows last week. Rich Swann didn’t have a partner and now he and Willie Mack are in their rearview mirror. They open some doors to walk through and see Willie on crutches. They open the other door and there’s Swann with the other crutch. Mack and Swann go on the attack which sends The GBs bailing.

After the break, Willie Mack makes clear that he’s good to go and Scott D’Amore happily books him and Swann against The Good Brothers for the Tag Titles at Victory Road on Saturday.

MATCH 3

John Skyler vs. Laredo Kid

Skyler says LK got lucky when he beat Skyler last week. Skyler says he won’t need luck tonight. The bell rings and the two go at it. Springboard cross body by LK followed up by a jumping neckbreaker before nailing a tope suicida. Bck in the ring, LK hits a springboard body splash for a two count.

Skyler nails an impactful belly-to-belly suplex on the floor. “You still suck” chants occur. Bac in teh ring, Skyler nails a backbreaker and gets a two count. Frustration is shown. Both men find themselves down after a double clothesline. “Laredo” chants. Punches are traded. LK gets the better of it, but Skyler pulls at Kid’s mask and school boys him up with a handful of tights for the tainted win.

WINNER: John Skyler

“All About Me” is with Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne & Kaleb With A K. The “host” is Taylor Wilde and she calls Madison a “flamingo bobblehead.” In comes Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering. Tenille wants to end the show early. Wilde says Dashwood is too afraid to fight her by herself. Matters continue to unravel from there.

Matt Cardona attack Rohit Raju earlier in the parking lot after Cheslea Green is still not cleared to compete. D’Amore isn’t pleased with Cardona, but books him in a No DQ match against Raju at Victory Road.

MATCH 4

Matthew Rehwoldt vs. Trey Miguel

There’s an extended collar and elbow tie up, but Matt hits Trey with a knee strike. He stays in control as he punches Trey in the corner. Massive lariat to the outside by Rehwoldt. He snake eyes Trey on the apron before putting him back on the canvas.  Trey goes for a springboard armdrag, but Matthew shoves him and hangs his arm over the ropes. The arm becomes a major focus of Matthew. “Spider-Trey” chants as Rehwoldt corners Trey with a back splash. He knees Trey in the spine before nailing some elbows on the top of Trey’s skull. Two count.

Trey gets Matt tripped up and follows it with a springboard shotgun dropkick. He flips Matthew over for a crisp pin attempt, but a kick out occurs. rey goes for  corner crossbody, but Rehwoldt Fireman carries him into a modified powerbomb for a near fall. Trey catches Matt up top and the two duke it out. Rehwoldt misses a swanton and Trey soon turns it into his leg hook submission. Matthew taps.

WINNER: Trey Miguel

Post-match, Deonna comes out and low blows Trey. This brings out Mickie James and a pull-apart brawl goes down. She does a top-rope dive to the outside on Rewoldt, Deonna and security.

Tasha Steelz says that she and Savannah Evans didn’t actually steal the tag belts, they got back what is theirs after Slammiversary. She calls Decay out to try and take them back.

Chris Bey is with Hikuleo. They’re going to face Fin Juice at Victory Road. Bey tells them to say their prayers as they say “Too Sweet.”

MAIN EVENT

Moose, Brian Myers, Ace Austin, Madman Fulton & W. Morrissey vs. Josh Alexander, Christian Cage, Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards & Chris Sabin

Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan work on Ace Austin to start the match. Austin gets backed up and everyone tags themselves in as it leads to a showdown center ring between the ten men. This prompts a break.

Back from it, all men brawl on the floor. When matters somewhat get back to order, Sam Beale gets package piledrove by Sami Callihan. This allows Brian Myers to take advantage and leads to Madman exuding his power. Sami does hit a top rope bulldog on Fulton. Tag to Sabin, but Alexander tags himself in. He goes for a German suplex series against Madman, but Fultn stops it and Sabin tags back in. He takes it to Austin before tagging in Christian. Austin tags in Madman for heel heat. Fulton hits a kitchen sink and a boot on Cage. Fulton goes for a snake eyes, but Cage wriggles free to tag in Edwards. Double back elbow, but soon Fulton corners Eddie and Moose tags in. Eddie hits a Manhattan drop and then a belly-to-belly. “Eddie” chants. Moose hits a high dropkick to send Eddie toppling off the top and out of the ring. We go to the final break of the evening.

Back from break, Eddie Edwards finds himself in a bind as he’s ganged up on by the bad guys. Morrissey wears him down for Ace Austin but Eddie nails Ace with a vert suplex. Myers cuts Eddie off at the pass and gator rolls him back into his corner. Morrissey continues the fight as crowd claps for Eddie. W. chokes him with a boot. Eddie soon nails W. with a dropkick and tag is made to Christian. He goes on the offense against Myers. Ten punch in the corner goes up to 20 and the crowd is pumped. Myers tries to dump him, but Cage catches him with his signature throat chop and then a frog splash. He gets a near fall but Morrissey stops it. All wrestlers get a bit of offense in . It’s down to Ace and Cage. Christian goes for a Killswitch but Ace hits a low blow. Eddie hits a running enziguri on the apron and climbs up top to meet Austin for a superplex onto the mass of humanity to the outside.

Finish occurs when Cage hits a spear on Myers who then gets nailed with a C4 Spike by Alexander for the 1-2-3.

WINNERS: Christian Cage, Josh Alexander, Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards & Sami Callihan
