AEW Rampage: Grand Slam Results (9/24/21)

The Lucha Brothers and Santana & Ortiz vs. Hardy Family Office (Private Party and The Butcher & The Blade) (with Matt Hardy)

The match begins as a wild brawl, and the fan-favorites dive onto their opponents at ringside. A double-team splash is only good enough for a two count on The Blade. The Butcher powerbombs Fenix, and HFO takes control. Hardy tries to cut Santana’s hair, but Orange Cassidy comes to ringside to stop him. “Freshly Squeezed” drops Jack Evans with a Superman Punch.

Santana and Ortiz double-team The Blade, but Marq Quen causes Santana to Spear Ortiz with a hurricanrana. Penta blasts Isiah Kassidy with a superkick and drops him with a backbreaker.The Butcher gets rocked by a kick from Fenix, but Blade drills him with a big boot and a clothesline.

Penta drops Quen with a Slingblade, and the Lucha Brothers plant Quen with the Fear Factor. Santana and Ortiz pin him with the Street Sweeper.

Winners: The Lucha Brothers and Santana & Ortiz

In an interview backstage, Matt Hardy is furious about Orange Cassidy’s interference. Hardy says Penelope Ford will end Anna Jay’s triumphant return. He then says he’s tired of Cassidy getting in his way, so he challenges him to a Hair vs. Hair match between Cassidy and Jack Evans.

Miro attacks Sammy Guevara and Fuego Del Sol when “The Sexy Spanish God” tries to show off his signature signs. “The Redeemer” tosses Fuego off the stage. He then locks Guevara in the Game Over and leaves him lying.

In a promo segment, Andrade El Idolo says he didn’t need help to beat PAC, but Chavo Guerrero’s interference was “unacceptable.” He vows to beat PAC again, and this time, “The Bastard” won’t have an excuse for losing.

Anna Jay vs. Penelope Ford

Jay enters first, but she attacks Ford while she’s still walking to the ring. She dumps Ford out of the ring and slms her into the ring post. Jay drives Ford into the ring apron. The Bunny distracts Jay, and Ford capitalizes with a boot to the head.

Jay and Ford keep fighting, and Ford escapes the QueenSlayer. The Bunny distracts the referee, and behind his back, Ford blasts Jay with brass knuckles to clinch the victory.

Winner: Penelope Ford

Ford and The Bunny keep attacking Jay after the match, but Tay Conti makes the save. Still, the numbers game is too much, as Ford rocks Conti with the brass knuckles, too. Hardy Family Office surrounds the ring, and Orange Cassidy comes to the stage. Outnumbered, Cassidy waits for several members of the fractured Dark Order to even the odds. The rest of Dark Order joins the fray, and the group forms a united front to fend off HFO.

Aftr a fleeting reunion, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson walk away, so the Dark Order still have some issues to sort out.

Backstage, in a split-screen interview, the teams of Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston and Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki hype up the main event.

Lights Out Match: Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley

The two teams quickly take the fight to each other. Suzuki and Moxley treat chairs like swords and joust each other. Kingston trades blows with Suzuki, who laughs “The Mad King” off. The hometown hero gets a table, but Suzuki sends him crashing through it with a big boot. Archer and Moxley trade blows. “The Murderhawk Monster” gains the upper and proceeds to beat upsome “ring attendants” before he slams Moxley onto them.

Suzuki trades strikes with Moxley, and Archer chokes him with a belt. After a commerical, Archer tapes Moxley’s hands together before he and Suzuki whip the former world champion with a belt. Archer blasts Moxley with a trash can lid. Kingston rallies, but he gets overpowered by Archer. With his hands still taped behind his back, Moxley continues to get double-teamed by his opponents.

Moxley dodgesa charging Archer and tries to fight with his hands taped behind his back. Kingston takes the fight to Archer and Suzuki. “The Mad King” rapidly chops Archer. He suplexes the big man, but he gets planted with a spinning slam by “The Murderhawk Monster.”

Archer goes to slam Kingston onto a chair, but Homicide charges the ring and blasts the big man with a chair. He frees Moxley before Suzuki tosses him out of the ring. Moxley plants Suzuki with a Paradigm Shift. Two back-fists from Archer and a Paradigm Shift drop Archer. KIngston flips off the referee and blasts Archer repeatedly with a kendo stick (while his head is in a trash can) for the win.

Winners: Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston
