Finn Balor and Sami Zayn faced off in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. With a spot in the finals just one win away, Finn Balor rose to the occasion and emerged victorious.
In what turned out to be a hard-fought fun match between the renowned competitors, Zayn controlled the action early on. He got in Balor’s face and threw him into the turnbuckle before he hit him with a flurry of strikes. But Balor persevered and stunned Zayn with a stiff kick to gain some momentum.
Toward the end of the match, Zayn attempted to gain an underhanded win with a schoolboy pin, but the referee caught him using the ropes, so she stopped the count. Balor then dropped Zayn with a dropkick and tried to hit the Coup de Grace, but Zayn rolled away at the last second. But after he reversed out of another schoolboy pin, Balor hit consecutive dropkicks on Zayn before he clinched the win with the Coup de Grace.
