World Tag League rolls on. With a night of taped matches in Saitama on Thursday, and live action from Yamanashi, the top spot in the tournament has become a bit crowded, with nearly half of the block tied for first place.
Dangerous Tekkers got a big win over Naito & SANADA on Thursday, planting the flag at the 12 point spot. The match brought both teams scraping against the 30min time limit. Sabre got the win with just 11 seconds left in the match. Riding the high of victory into Saturday, they were brought crashing back to earth by EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, and The House of Torture.
Their loss on Saturday, mixed with a number of wins is what led to this traffic jam at the top.
United Empire’s Aaron Henare & Great-O-Khan got two dominants wins over this stretch of matches. They crumpled Yuji Nagata & Tiger Mask in just over 10min and continued their legend-killing tour on Saturday by similarly crushing Great Bash Heel.
YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto continue to keep their hot streak alive. They got a dominant win over the slippery Tanahashi & Yano on Thursday. Saturday they participated in the TAKA Michinoku Punishment Tour, being the latest team to beat the hell out of the winless Michinoku.
Naito & SANADA recovered from their loss with a win over Ten-cozy. Chase Owens & Bad Luck Fale snuck ahead of their Bullet Club brethren with wins over Ten-cozy and Yuji Nagata & Tiger Mask.
There is a very definite dividing line between the successful young teams, and the elder statesmen that are cobbling together a win or two here and there, and that line is Tanahashi & Yano. The Be-Bopping street toughs went winless over the two rounds of competition, dimming their promising start to the tournament.

While Yuto Nakashima and Kosei Fujita wrestled another 10-min overture on Thursday, Young Lion Ryohei Oiwa tangled with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi on Saturday. While he lasted longer than 10 minutes, he tapped less than 20seconds after the 10min call.
