Kairi Sane’s WWE Contract Expires, Officially A Free Agent

Kairi Sane‘s WWE contract has officially come to an end.

This news was confirmed this week by Dave Meltzer in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Despite not wrestling for the company since July of 2020, Kairi Sane has still been under contract with WWE despite moving back to Japan to be with her husband. While WWE wanted to renew her contract, Sane declined according to Meltzer because she doesn’t want to live in the United States or travel during the current pandemic.

It’s also being reported that Stardom would like to have her back, but it’s unknown if she will make her return to the company now that she’s free and clear to do so. Sane previously requested to work a major Stardom event at Budokan Hall on March 3, but the request was ultimately denied by WWE.

Despite not wanting to travel right now, you have to imagine that All Elite Wrestling would be interested in speaking with her especially with the amount of Joshi stars already part of their women’s division.
