Seth Rollins Confirms Testing Positive For COVID-19

Seth Rollins comments on missing this week’s WWE live event return to Madison Square Garden.

On Sunday, Seth Rollins posted the following on Twitter, confirming he’d tested positive for COVID-19:

Merry Covid Christmas to me!!!! I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!

Rollins not only acknowledged his absence from Sunday’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden, but his comments about football are in reference to a long-running gag where he shares his feelings on the Chicago Bears’ exploits in the NFL. (The Bears won on Sunday, beating the Seattle Seahawks 25-24.)

Seth Rollins was one of several WWE Superstars that missed this weekend’s slate of live events this weekend. Big E, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch (RAW Women’s Champion and Rollins’ wife) also missed the Madison Square Garden live event on Sunday. WWE announced that some talent was missing from the events “due to effects of COVID-19” but did not specifically disclose whether these performers tested positive for the coronavirus. At this time, Rollins is the only one to publicly comment on his situation.

Seth Rollins was scheduled to compete in the main event on Sunday against Kevin Owens and Big E in a triple threat match. At this time, he is still scheduled to compete in a Fatal 4 Way at WWE Day 1 in Atlanta on January 1 against Owens, Big E and Bobby Lashley.
