Alex Shelley Returning To IMPACT Wrestling, Faces Jay White At Sacrifice

Alex Shelley is making his return to IMPACT Wrestling, and the company has set him up with a marquee opponent in “Switchblade” Jay White.

IMPACT Wrestling has confirmed Alex Shelley vs. Jay White for its Sacrifice special on March 5. Sacrifice is part of IMPACT’s two-day taping in Louisville, Kentucky on March 5 and 6. White has been making regular appearances on IMPACT TV, but this will mark Shelley’s first appearance for the company in nearly fifteen months.

Shelley last competed on IMPACT TV on December 1, 2020 when he and Chris Sabin defeated XXXL (Larry D and Ace Romero). He was scheduled to be part of the six-man tag match featuring Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers at Hard To Kill 2021, but had to back out due to “unavoidable circumstances.” Shelley later explained that his absence was related to his job as a physical therapy clinician and mandates in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shelley said that he did not have COVID himself, but had to put his professional duties and patients’ health first.

Despite his IMPACT absence, Shelley has resumed wrestling for various companies in 2021, including GCW, MLW and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Before he makes his IMPACT return, Shelley is set to face off with Richard Holliday at MLW Superfight in Charlotte on February 26.
