Flip Gordon Returns To BTE, Schiavone Bids For EVP & Matt Hardy Gives A ‘Hard No’ To AEW HOF

This week’s Being The Elite saw the return of Flip Gordon. The ROH star showed up in the AEW locker room and was superkicked for his troubles by Adam Cole and The Young Bucks. After that, he was attacked by John Silver & Alex Reynolds of Dark Order before Matt Jackson welcomed him to AEW….Dark. No actual word yet if Flip is indeed All Elite.

Before that, it was Tony Schiavone who tried to shift his way into the recently vacant EVP spot. He pitched his case, stating that he’s been with AEW since the beginning and is even willing to let bygones be bygones after being superkicked by the brothers on Dynamite. Matt & Nick both  feigned interest before giving the commentary legend the heave ho and stating that they aren’t looking for a replacement EVP.

NWA’s Chris Adonis also made a guest appearance on BTE as he was interviewed by Ryan Nemeth.

Christopher Daniels had an interaction with Danhausen before a ghost-like Orange Cassidy appeared to hand Daniels a pair of Ray Bans before vanishing.

In the final segment, a disgruntled Matt Hardy confronts the Young Bucks about his drug test results. Before he showed up the brothers say they could tell his urine was indeed clean (both by smell and taste) and told Matt that they actually didn’t have the results. Hardy was furious but Matt tried to ease matters by offering him a spot in the AEW Hall Of Fame. Knowing well that such an establishment doesn’t exist Matt delivwrs a “hard no.” After Hardy exits, Matt Jackson is a bit miffed and believes Hardy thinks that he and Jeff are the better “box office” tag team.
