Report: Kenny Omega Recently Had Knee Surgery, Set For Hernia Surgery Later In March

Kenny Omega remains on the road to recovery.

As previously reported, the former AEW World Champion had been suffering from a number of medical issues during his reign with the title. Once he dropped the championship to Hangman Page at AEW Full Gear in November, Omega took time off, and he has been absent ever since.

In an update, in the March 18 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that Omega’s recovery from a recent knee surgery will take approximately ten weeks. “The Best Bout Machine” will also have surgery to repair a sports hernia at the end of Month, which will sideline him for “about” two months. Additionally, Meltzer noted that Omega is “taking care of” other things, but it’s unclear what they are and how long he’ll be out of action.

Omega spoke about his recovery in an interview with Wrestling Observer Radio; his comment are available here.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
