Report: AEW Isn’t Renewing Marko Stunt’s Contract, Budget Cuts And Large Roster Cited As Reasons

Marko Stunt is on his way out of All Elite Wrestling.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select previously reported that Stunt’s contract will expire in May, and in a new report, Ross Sapp confirmed his looming exit.

The report states that Christopher Daniels, AEW’s Head of Talent Relations, called Stunt and informed him that his deal won’t be renewed due to “budget cuts and a larger roster.” Daniels also reportedly noted that the plans for Jurassic Express changed at some point.

Stunt has been entirely absent from AEW programming for six months. He was sidelined by a concussion in October, but according to Fightful, he still tried to contact the company in order to get booked so he could prove himself ahead of his contract expiration.

Ross Sapp also wrote that the split was “amicable”, and the conversation between the two sides “went well.”

Stunt debuted at AEW’s first event, Double or Nothing 2019, and went on to form Jurassic Express with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus later that year.
